Everyone can cook, however...
You might be stuck for ideas of what to cook.
You might feel like you’re no good at cooking.
Maybe you’re faced with cooking for other people with different diets and tastes.
You may have lost your confidence in the kitchen.
Were you kept out of the kitchen by a parent or partner?
After years of cooking for others maybe you’ve forgotten what you like to eat.
Maybe you’re overwhelmed by choice and want to know how to eat ethically (whatever that means!)
I know how tiring it can be to feed a family day-in-day-out. The shopping, the prep, the thinking, ‘Ahhhh, what will everyone eat?’ I’ve felt rejected when someone didn’t like the food I made for them.
I also know the difficulties of cooking-for-one, changing shopping habits, the effort to make food when it’s only you. As well as the pleasure of cooking and eating whatever and whenever you want!
I’ve taught and cooked with thousands of children and adults over the last twenty years. In schools, restaurants, workshops and at home. I want to share my passion for food with you.

What’s in a name?
‘Epicurious’ was suggested by my friends Tonia and Brenda, I liked the sound of it so did some research. Nowadays ‘epicurean’ refers to enjoyment of fine food and drink. However, the word derives from Epicurus, the ancient Greek philosopher who looked to Nature for inspiration. Unusually for his time - around 300BC - Epicurus was vegetarian. He also broke social norms of the time by allowing women and enslaved people join his philosophical school. Epicurus’ school, The Garden, was a haven for folk to share meals and wide-ranging discussions.
